Tradition and comfort - far from the hectic bustle of life

Saija Lodge is situated in the northeast of Finland, south of the Arctic Circle, in the middle of the beautiful and original Finnish nature. The lodge is built directly by the shore of the idyllic Lake Jokijärvi and is surrounded by mostly state-owned commercial timberland. A curvy country road leads to our lodge in the middle of spruce and pine forest and our huskies greet you before you enter the main building and the reception of the rustic Saija Lodge. Our manor is a wooden-built hotel, which offers accommodation, restaurant services and individual or guided activities upon pre-order all year round.

Accommodation

20 apartments with an en-suite sauna in log-built houses (for 2-4 persons), two holiday houses and two glass-roofed cabins 'Sky Cabins'

Restaurant

In our kitchen, we are passionate about using only the cleanest, locally and domestic sourced ingredients. We always serve genuine, northeastern fare and offer a daily evolving menu featuring seasonal ingredients. After an active day in nature our guests are pampered with traditional house specialities like delicious salmon or meat dishes of reindeer or forest cattle. The food will always be prepared also to meet special dietary needs if needed.

Activities

Arctic forests, swamp areas, rivers and lakes invite you to go hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing and relaxing in the nature. Also in winter time you can discover the wintry wilderness in many different ways; on a dog sledge, on cross-country skis, on snowshoes and by snowmobile. Or you may spend your day ice fishing and enjoying a sunny winter day on the lake. Also the huskies of Saija Lodge are eagerly waiting for your visit and would love to go for a walk with you. Make up your own holiday as you wish.
